High school diploma; excellent management, logistics, mechanical, and technology skills; excellent organizational and people skills. 

 

Responsible for the daily operation and management of the transportation bus shop. Will supervise the shop and mechanics and manage work assignments for all shop employees, as well as evaluate job performance. Will assist with driver concerns as well as communicating with bus attendants, substitutes, mentors, and other transportation staff. Will work closely with the Transportation Operations Manager.  Responsible for ensuring that the bus maintenance and repairs are current and complete. Will be responsible for maintaining the vehicle fleet as well. Will be responsible for accurate record keeping of maintenance and repairs. Responsible for scheduling vehicle maintenance and out-sourcing as needed. Oversees factory warranty issues and recalls. Will assist with the purchasing of vehicles, equipment, tools, fuel, and other shop related items. Responsible for record keeping and budget management, and related accounting procedures. Will also be active in obtaining and updating computer software necessary for daily operations. Will be responsible for all state reports related to buses mileages, costs, etc. Responsible for parts procurement and inventory. Person in this position must carry a current CDL with the endorsements necessary for school bus operation. Will perform other duties as assigned.
